GAME PREVIEW
Osceola (2-5, 2-0) hits the road Friday for a trip to Walnut Ridge to face the Bobcats (5-2, 2-0). At stake is a continued share of the top spot in Conference 3-3A. Currently, Manila, Hoxie, Walnut Ridge and Osceola are all tied for first place with 26 playoff points. The Lions and the Mustangs also meet Friday at Lions Stadium.
Osceola and Walnut Ridge both had a much needed week off in Week Seven. The Bobcats come in averaging more than 350 yards a game rushing. Enrique Perez leads the Bobcats attack with 820 yards and seven scores The Bobcats have three players with more than 500 yards on the ground this season. Jersie Cunningham has more than 640 yards and Robbie Hale has 544. Walnut Ridge is averaging 34 points per game and giving up a shade under 17 points per game thus far.
The Bobcats have a big advantage up front and move the pile well on offense. The Bobcats defense has been opportunistic so far in 2023. The Bobcats will be a tough nut for the Seminoles to crack.
The Seminoles have gotten their feet under them with two straight wins. The Seminoles will need a huge game out of both their offense and defense if they want to stay in the hunt for the top spot in the conference.
Osceola is scoring about 29 points per game and giving up 30. They will need to get their own run game going. Chris James leads Osceola with 395 yards and five scores. Jeremiah Jacobs has 235 yards and two scores.
Keenan Jackson leads the receivers with 424 yards and eight touchdowns.
Osceola will also need solid play from Harris Manning, Jr. in the trenches and solid play from Jacobs, Zaden Buchanan and Demarius Hackett.
Osceola will need to be firing on all cylinders if they are to win their third consecutive game.
