GAME PREVIEW
In a 3-3A game with a share of first place on the line, Manila will host its biggest home game of the season when the Hoxie Mustangs (7-0, 2-0) come to Lion Stadium Friday.
The Lions (3-4, 2-0) will need to have everything going their way if they are to hang with the Mustangs.
Hoxie is averaging more than 240 yards per game running and 120 per game passing.
Senior quarterback Kayden Glenn triggers the Mustangs attack. Glenn has tossed 15 touchdown passes this season while completing just over 70 percent of his throws.
Glenn has also ran for more than 600 yards and nine scores. His fellow senior Camden Brooks has amassed 540 yards on the ground and six scores. Senior Jake Jones leads the Mustang receivers with 16 catches for more than 310 yards and three scores.
Ethan Dulaney leads the team in tackles with 52, while Mattheis Dobbs has 43 stops.
The Lions are paced by sophomore quarterback Issac Moore who has thrown for 541 yards and six scores this season. Senior receiver Jacob Baugher lead the Lions with 15 receptions for 377 yards and four scores.
Drake Morris leads the team with 354 yards rushing and four scores.
Manila is averaging scoring 26 points per game while giving up 36 points per game. Hoxie is surrendering a league low 10 points per game.
The Lions will need a supreme effort from both the offense and defense if they are to topple the Mustangs and even head coach Ben Fisher’s record at 4-4.
