ARMOREL — The Armorel Tigers and Lady Tigers joined forces Thursday night for their annual basketball shootout to help raise funds for their programs.

Tigers head coach Shannon Miller stated the annual fundraiser helps purchasing shooting shirts for practice and game day attire.

Miller added 26 Tigers participated in the fundraiser.

Lady Tigers head coach Wes Sanders stated there were 15 participants in the junior high program and eight lady Tigers participated.

Sanders added the fundraiser was a great success.

“Our Tiger Shootout was a great success. It promotes parental and community involvement within our basketball programs which is always great for the kids,” explained Sanders. “Players, parents, coaches, and community members all had a great time tonight!”

The Tigers, Lady Tigers start their season on Oct. 27 with their annual inner-squad Orange and White game.

Their regular season will begin Nov. 2  as they travel to Monette to play the Buffalo Island Central Mustangs with all four teams competing.
