Martha Elizabeth Taylor
Martha Elizabeth Taylor, 92, of Blytheville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Martha was born in Steele, Mo., to James Robert and Vinnie Lee Jones Carrell and was a retired postmaster in Braggadocio, Mo. She was a member of Fort McCoy Baptist Church and taught women’s Sunday school classes at several churches over the years. Martha was a member of the women’s VFW at Fort McCoy, Fla. She enjoyed reading her Bible and doing genealogy research. Martha loved being outdoors working in her garden when she was younger and was an excellent cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Taylor; son, David Taylor; brother, James Aubry Carrell; and son-in-law, Johnny Bradford.
Martha is survived by her children, Chris A. “Tony” Taylor and his wife Pam of Powell, Tenn., Brenda Bradford of Gosnell, Danny Jay Taylor, Sr. and Mary Bess of Steele, Mo., and Michael Philip Taylor and his wife Lynda of Crestview, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; brother, Billy Carroll of Piedmont, Mo.; sister, Joan Kirby of Palm Coast, Fla.; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Taylor of Gosnell.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Dunavant officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
