The Wilson CottonFest will be held Saturday, Sept. 16 beginning at 11 a.m. on the historic town square.

The fest celebrates the crop that defined the Wilson legacy.

The Hampson Museum will be open during the festival. It will have a collection of animal furs on display. The exhibit underscores the deep-rooted relationship between the people of Wilson and the wildlife of the Mississippi Delta.

There will be a kids zone with the cotton train, face painting, petting zoo and bounce house.

Among the food and drinks being offered will be the Wilson Cafe shrimp boil, Heitz Patio College football, Staple at the Louis, The Grange, The Taco Hut, Crackin’, My Main Squeeze lemonade, Jus’ Roll and Southern Sip.

Local farms on hand will be The Grange at Wilson Gardens, Pollard Farms, Flatlands Farms and Suiter Farms. White’s Mercantile will have a pop-up market.

Among the vendors in the square will be The Main Studio, Bling by Catherine, Southern Grit permanent jewelry, Spare Room Candles, Nelson Wood, The Byrd House, Lizzy Wynn, Silversong Creations, Farmers Bank and Trust, and Johnny Cash Boyhood Home.

Live music will begin at 2 p.m. with Dalanie Taylor. Aaron Headley Band will perform beginning at 4:30 p.m. and Tim Hoggard and The Regional Champs will perform at 7 p.m.

A fireworks show will be held after the Arkansas verses BYU game.
