Jeane Bennett
Jeane Bennett, 93, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro.
Jeane was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Harrisburg to Eugene and Lura Casebier Williams. She was a member of Main and 13th Church of Christ. Jeane was a godly woman who served as an example and influence for many people. Everyone knew her for always working in her yard, and she took great pride in keeping her yard immaculate. Jeane actively served her community by working in the election polling places for several years. She was an avid Razorbacks fan and enjoyed following her children’s and grandchildren’s sports teams. Jeane loved her family and her God and was a humble servant for both.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wendell E. Bennett.
Jeane is survived by her children, Terry Bennett and his wife Beth of Sachse, Texas, Steven Bennett and his wife Janet of Blytheville, Danny Bennett and his wife Mary of Bentonville and Scott Bennett of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Kyle Bennett (Hannah), Kelli Hinton (James), Brandon Bennett (Jennifer), Brian Bennett (Chelsea), Laura Taylor (Heath), Madeline Bennett and Matthew Bennett; great-grandchildren, Emily Bennett, Olivia Bennett, Abigail Bennett, Sarah Bennett, McKenzie Hinton, Henley Jo Bennett and Ruthie Taylor; brothers, James Williams, Billy Williams and Tommy Williams (Darlene) of Harrisburg; sisters, Frankie Parks of Jonesboro, Juanita Carner of Lake City, Mary Ann Fortenberry of Harrisburg and Linda Williams of Leander, Texas.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson Kyle Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Jeane. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
