Brenda Joyce Barber

Brenda Joyce Barber, 75, of Leachville, passed from this life Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, at The Blossoms at White River in Newport. Born July 16, 1948, in Leachville to the late Edgar and Thomas Henryetta Newton Lawrence, she was a lifelong Leachville resident. Brenda was a babysitter and looked after many children over the years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, hunting, fishing and taking care of her dogs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee “Butch” Barber, four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include one son, Bryan Barber (Jennifer) of Austin; one brother, Robert Lawrence of North Little Rock; five sisters, Edna Spencer, Ethel Edwards, Mary Ann Henry, Ruth Harrell and Patsy McGrew.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at the Leachville Cemetery with Reverend Mark Wheeler officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Friends may sign the online guest register at wwww.HowardFuneralService.com.
