Mark Anthony “Tony” McCormick

Mark Anthony “Tony” McCormick, 65, of Caraway, passed from this life Monday, Aug. 14, 2023, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Born in Manila to the late J.T. and Esther Reams McCormick, he attended Caraway High School and had lived most of his life in Caraway. He was retired from Craighead County Electric and was a member of Rowe’s Chapel Baptist Church near Caraway. Tony enjoyed grilling and smoking ribs for his friends and family, watching the Velocity channel, spending time in his shop and making trips to the beach with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter Lori; two brothers, Teddy and Marty McCormick; and a great nephew, Judah Guntharp.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Ronnebeck McCormick of Leachville; one son, Bryan McCormick (Rachel) of Paragould; one daughter, Natalie McCormick of Leachville; three grandchildren, Marley and Bennett McCormick and Mia Vanhorn; three brothers, Burl McCormick of Osceola, Johnny McCormick (Christy) of Caraway and Trent McCormick of Manila; three sisters, Lola Penny (Jim), Nancy Corter (Jim) and Vickie Harrison (Jerry), all of Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Reverend Glen Hoselton officiating. Burial will follow in the Caraway Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Derek McCormick, Todd McCormick, Jimmy Thomas, Chris Earnhart, David Sheppard and Chris Lane. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Jones, Gary Gartman, Russell Polley, Terry Emery, John Brewer, David Edwards, Kris Kelton, Kile Haas, Chad Shortnacy and Allen Dewitt.
