Van David Murphy, Sr.

Van David Murphy, Sr., 63, of Dyess, passed away Aug. 9, 2023, in Osceola. He was born Jan. 24, 1960, in Osceola to Van Murphy and Lois Flowers (Bud) Dean. Mr. Murphy was a supervisor at Ratner Steel in Osceola, had an Associates Degree in HVAC and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Van Murphy and Lois (Bud) Dean; his wife, Robin Murphy; and one sister, Sheila Burt.

He is survived by one son, Van David Murphy, Jr. of Dyess; two daughters, Tona Tucker and Christen (Ricky Blagg) Murphy of Dyess; seven brothers, Coady Sanders of Ash Flat, Mike Trenthom of Mountain Home, Van (Linsay) Murphy, Jr. of Caraway, Carl (Deborah) Murphy of Osceola, Terry Murphy of Joiner, Justin (Brenda) Murphy of Paragould and Robert (Brandy) Cotton of Jonesboro; seven sisters, Ruthie (Ronnie) Hill of Osceola, Sherry (Robert) Yerbey of Dyess, Dorothy Barry of Joiner, Brenda Pittman of Calico Rock, Vanessa (Mike) Cooney of Mountain View, Diane Truscelli of Mountain Home and LaRhonda Howard of Texas; 16 grandchildren Macalia, Brookelyn, Robert, Tyler, Skylar, Abby, DJ, Braylon, Bryleigh, Harley, Caleb, Cali, Atley, Robin, Daisey and one unborn; two great-grandchildren, Jocelynne and Axel.

Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial was in Bassett Cemetery in Bassett with Bro. Don Barber as the officiant. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola was in charge of the arrangements.
