Gary Agee Jefferies

Gary Agee Jefferies, 69, of Trumann, passed from this life Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Memphis, Tenn., he was the son of the late Homer and Pansy Beebe Jefferies and had been a longtime resident of the Marked Tree, Trumann and Bay areas. Gary was a 1972 graduate of Trumann High School and had attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He was a longtime employee of Mid-South Manufacturing, formerly of Trumann. Gary enjoyed watching football, especially the Trumann Wildcats High School football team. In his earlier years he umpired for the City of Trumann Little League program.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Karen Southard Jefferies of the home; daughter, Lauren Jefferies Hunt of Trumann; two nephews, Mark Higdon (Tonia) of Jonesboro and Brian Higdon of Trumann. He also leaves many cousins that were dear to his heart and other extended family and friends including his fur baby “Buddy.”

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Christian Worship Center in Trumann with Rev. Ralph Guthrie officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2 p.m. until service time at the church. The family requests any memorials be made to the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
