Joe Ed Callins

Joe Ed Callins, 98, of Marked Tree, passed away June 21 2023, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born March 18, 1925, in Tennessee to John and Leona Elizabeth Butler Callins. Mr. Callins was a retired farmer, a retired carpenter and of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Juanita King Callins; one son, Benny Joe Callins; one daughter, Rita Gail Johnson; four brothers; six sisters; three grandchildren, Shannon Southern, James Johnson and Angela McEwen.

He is survived by his beloved companion Ruth Baney of Marked Tree; one son, Ronnie Coats of Marked Tree; two daughters, Pam Southern of Marion and Jane Lambert of Michie, Tenn.; one sister, Emma Nell Callins of Tennessee; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Saturday, June 24, from 9-10 a.m. with the funeral at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza. Burial was at Tyronza Cemetery in Tyronza with Bro. Gary Andrews officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza was in charge of the services.
