Mary O. Payne

Mary O. Payne, 84, of Las Cruces, N.M., formerly of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Mary was born in Gosnell to Carl and Bessie Prince and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Blytheville. She worked as the church secretary at First Baptist Church until retirement. After retirement, Mary enjoyed spending her time traveling. She was an avid reader and enjoyed walking the track at First Baptist Church. Mary loved her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Payne; and siblings, Bill, Tommy and Brenda.

Mary is survived by her son, Tim Payne and his wife Mari of Deming, N.M.; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Esther, Scott, Sean and Caroline; 11 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Steve Prince and Ben Aycock.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 12, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
