Etheleen Lewis Durley
Etheleen Lewis Durley was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Memphis, Tenn. She was born to the parents of Wiley and Mary Lewis. Her twin sister Katheleen Lewis preceded her in death at the tender age of two in 1926. As a child she attended Wilson Trade School in Wilson. She graduated from Vashon High School in Saint Louis, Mo. Etheleen enjoyed drawing, typing and playing basketball Her passion was reading the bible and teaching Sunday school.
Etheleen leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Florice K. Lewis (Hoover) and Patricia A Durley-Winston (Willie); two sons, Steve E Lewis (Leslie) and Phillip C Durley; 17 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild due in May 2023; and a host of other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, at 2 p.m. at Ronald L. Jones Funeral Chapel, 2161 East Fair Ave., St. Louis, Mo.
A visitation will be held Saturday, April 1, in the chapel of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 S. Division, Blytheville from 2-3 p.m. followed by interment in Whiteside Gardens Cemetery in Osceola.
McDonald-Horne Funeral Home is in charge of services and arrangements.
