Gloria Taylor

Gloria Taylor was born March 18, 1953, to T.W. Taylor Sr. and June Taylor in Leland, Miss. She was the fifth child of nine children. She departed this life on Feb. 20, 2023, at her home in Houston, Texas, at the age of 69. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; T.W. Taylor Jr. and C.W. Taylor.

Her family moved to Blytheville in January of 1963. At an early age she accepted Christ at New St. Paul M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. W.J. Johnson. She graduated from Blytheville High School. She later moved to Los Angles, Calif. She worked and retired from Los Angeles Department of Public Services in 2014. After retiring she moved to Houston, Texas.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son; Cedric Vonshae Taylor; three daughters: June Tomiko Taylor, Aisha Danielle Taylor and Tia Antranette Taylor, five sisters, Bobbie Hampton, Dorothy Clark (Calvin), Linda Mathis, Juanita Taylor and Evelyn Clark (Bishaara) of Blytheville; one brother, David Taylor (Evelyn) of Columbus, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one aunt; Betty McIntosh of Mesquite, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 18, at 11 a.m. at New St. Paul M.B. Church, 515 E. Sawyer, Blytheville, with Pastor Clark Phillips officiating.
