Bennie Lee Coleman
Bennie Lee Coleman, 79, of Osceola was born Nov. 22, 1943, in Hope to Nelson Coleman and Minnie Stewart Coleman. He was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor M.L. Smith where he sang with the Male Chorus. And was a retired employee of the Osceola School District.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Marshall, Nelson, Jr., Dan, Roosevelt, Willie, Robert and Gus; his sisters, Ella and Stella. He transitioned on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Coleman of the home; three bonus sons, Larry (Linda) Scott of Blytheville, Alvin (Vickie) Scott of Rockford, Ill., and Jerry Debose, Jr. of Blytheville; three bonus daughters, Virginia Welch of Osceola, Pearlene Ransom, also of Osceola, and Kitty (Timothy) Welch of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister, Corine Willis of Osceola; 28 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 18, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 210 Watson Avenue, Osceola.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend M.L. Smith will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow at Whiteside Gardens Cemetery.
