Thelma Louise Graves
Thelma Louise Graves, 95, of Kennesaw, Ga., formerly of Blytheville, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023. Mrs. Graves was born in Tiptonville, Tenn., of parents, William T. Davis and Maggie Myrtle Davis. She leaves behind her current husband of 65 years, John Wayne Graves; two daughters, Jamie LaNeal Campbell of Mobile, Ala., and Brenda Kay Culbreth (H) Rex of Waxhaw N.C., two sons, James Thomas Mizell II, (W) Debbie of Harvest, Ala., and Randy Wayne Graves of Canton, Ga. She is also survived by one brother, William Thomas Davis, Jr. (W) Anne of Brookland. She was preceded by her first husband, James Thomas Mizell Sr., and by her sister, Ruby Jean Hodge. In addition to her four children, she leaves seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a multitude of friends and loved ones.
Louise was a member of the Burnt Hickory Church of Christ in Marietta, Ga. She has been a leader in many churches throughout the U.S. and overseas while accompanying her husband as he served in the U.S. Air Force. As a mother, she reared her children in Christian principles and attended to their needs as only a mother could do. She was active in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Officers Wives Club; holding many positions including president, vice-president, bridge chairwomen, social chairwomen and other positions when called upon. Her constant goal in life was to help others.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 15, from 1-3 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
