Paul Melvin Spears

Paul Melvin Spears, 88, of Joiner, passed away Jan. 24, 2023, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a U.S. Marine - Korean War, a member of Wardell Baptist Church, he retired from heat and air and owned his own business for 17 years. Mr. Spears was married to Alice Ann Ashburn Spears for 68 years. He was born June 26, 1934, in Earle to Fred and Phoebe Duvall Spears. Mr. Spears was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Carl Spears; one grandson, Jeff Spears, Jr.; and two great-grandsons, Conner and Caleb Hickman.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Ann Spears of Joiner; three sons, Keith (Susan) Spears of Brighton, Tenn., Chris (Diane) Spears of Pocahontas and Jeff (Dian) Spears of Joiner; one daughter, Paula Spears White of Joiner; one sister, Barbara June Pariani of Deland, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. at Ashburn-Musick Cemetery in Bassett with Bro. Steve Jacobs officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola will be in charge of arrangements.
