Bernard Joseph “Joe” Stark Jr.

Bernard Joseph “Joe” Stark Jr., 65, of Horseshoe Bend, formerly of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at his home.

Joe was born in Blytheville to Bernard and Mattie Capwell Stark. He graduated from Arkansas State University with a bachelor’s degree and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He also graduated with a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas. Joe was a coach and teacher at Gosnell School District as well as West Junior High in Blytheville. He retired from Nucor Hickman and had a passion for fitness.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Christine Kornblum, Carrie Decker and Laverne White.

Joe is survived by his son, Joseph “JC” Stark of Wilmington, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Linda Holmes of Blytheville, Kevin Decker of Martin, Tenn., Philip Kornblum of Riverside, Calif., Lisa Gray of Conway, Joel Kornblum of Murrietta, and Cindy Reese of Harrisburg; brothers-in-law, Mike Kornblum of Springfield, Mo., and Bill Decker of Gosnell; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Eddie Clemons officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
