Norma Jean Westbrook

Norma Jean Westbrook, 93, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at The Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born Aug. 18, 1929, to Claude and Fonnee Simpkins.

Norma’s passions in life were her faith, family and friends. Her signature gift of joy shown through her constant smiling, laughter and her joking around will never be forgotten.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Westbrook, Sr., and two brothers; C.B. Simpkins and Jim Simpkins.

Norma is survived by a son; Robert Westbrook, Jr. (Lana) of Henderson; a daughter, Jeanie Pechilis of Jonesboro; a grandson; Nicholas Pechilis of Greenville, S.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 22, at the First Baptist Church, 710 S. Main St. in Jonesboro. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., followed by the service at 2 p.m., with Ross Burton officiating. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery.
