Donald Richard “Duck” James, Sr.

Donald Richard “Duck” James, Sr., 53 of Osceola, passed away Dec. 31, 2022, at Covenant Health Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was a steel mill worker and of the Baptist faith. Mr. James was born Dec. 2, 1969, in Osceola to Jessie Parks and Rosemary James Dunn. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Dunn; two brothers, Roosevelt Dunn, Jr. and Robert Dunn.

He is survived by his father, Jessie Parks of Saginaw, Mich.; his wife, Lashonda James of St. Cloud, Minn.; a special friend, Reshawn Jones of Osceola; four sons, Donald James and Semaj James of Minneapolis, Minn., Rashawn James of Osceola and Daishon Fountain of Jonesboro; three daughters, Brianna James, Bianca (Matthew) Deikel and Dynasty James of Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, Edward Dunn of Jonesboro; one sister, Latrice Dunn of Osceola, and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 14, from 1-2 p.m. with the funeral at 2 p.m. at New Mt. Pleasant Christian Worship Center in Osceola. Burial will be at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola with Bishop Gregory Brown officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge of the arrangements.
