Betty Sue Cobb
Betty Sue Cobb, 76, of Lake City, formerly of Leachville, passed from this life Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Manila, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruby Roberds Denison and had been a longtime Leachville resident before making her home in Lake City in 1998. She had been employed by Brown Shoe Company and Borg-Warner before her retirement. She enjoyed dancing, watching Westerns on television and spending time with her family, but was passionate about her grandchildren. A dedicated Christian, she was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Leachville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Cobb, and one sister, Evelyn Thomas.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Freddy Cobb of the home; one son, David Cobb, and his wife Jodi of Lake City; one sister, Ellen Ray of Leachville. She also leaves two grandchildren, Dylan Cobb of Jonesboro and Ethan Cobb of Lake City.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Jason Goad officiating. Serving as active pallbearers will be Ervin Sexton, Mike Ray, Ed Young, Jon Milligan, Odes Finley and James “Pee Wee” Thomas. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery.
