Alferd Milton Albrecht
Alferd Milton Albrecht, 88, of Manila, passed from this life Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born at St. Louis, Mo., he was the son of the late Gottlieb and Esther Orth Albrecht and had been a longtime resident of Miami, Fla., before making his home in Manila earlier this year. Alferd was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War and in Italy. While in the Army he received his GED and later earned a degree in computer programming. In 1995 after 20 years, he retired from Panelfold Doors in Miami, Fla. An avid reader and dog lover, he enjoyed tending to his fruit trees, gardening and was a huge fan of the TV show “M.A.S.H.” He loved the beach and collecting seashells and had an extensive collection of vinyl records and 8 track cassettes. Alferd was a truly honest man and wonderful father who loved his family. He was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Alleta Hutton; three brothers, Gottlieb Albrecht, Jr., Lester Albrecht, DeWayne Albrecht; three sisters, Katherine Hunt, Marie Martin, Leona Dunkin; and one nephew, Steven Albrecht.
He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Babb of the home. He also leaves four nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Jason Sutfin and Dr. Matt Pryor officiating. Burial followed in the Manila Cemetery. The family received visitors from 1 p.m. until service time. Online guest register: www.howardfuneralservice.com
