David James Darkins, Sr.

David James Darkins, Sr., 94, of Osceola, passed away Nov. 2, 2022, at his home. He retired from American Greetings after 26 years. Mr. Darkins was born April 22, 1928, in Osceola to Watkins Darkins and Essie Mae Frazier Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dazell Darkins; and one daughter, Patricia Ann Darkins.

He is survived four sons, David Darkins, Jr. of Muskegon, Mich., Larry Covington (Retha) of Columbus, Ohio, Eric Darkins (Dorothy) of Green Bay, Wis., and Danny Darkins of Texas; one daughter, Jacqueline Lewis (Charles) of Osceola; one brother, Alex James, Jr. of Osceola; a host of grand-, great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 12, from 12-2 p.m. with the funeral at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will be at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola with Dr. Moses Black officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge of arrangements.
