Peggy Sue Brooks

Peggy Sue Brooks, 83, of Manila, passed from this life Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, at the Manila Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Marvin "Bud" and Eugenia Shaver Bibbs and had lived most of her life in Manila. She attended Manila High School and was the widow of Donnie Brooks. Peggy was a member of the Soul's Harbor Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church in Manila and was retired from Manila Public Schools. She enjoyed family gatherings, singing with her late brothers and playing piano. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Nugent; two stepsons, James Brooks and Donald Brooks; one grandson, Lynard Brooks; and three brothers, Jimmy Bibbs, Jerry Bibbs and Dale Bibbs.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Cheadle of Manila; one stepson, Larry Brooks of Minier, Ill.; one brother, Danny Bibbs of Lenexa, Kan. Peggy also leaves her grandchildren, Apryl (Kyle) Stone of Navarre, Fla., Rachel (Chipper) Cheadle of Kennett, Mo., James Brooks, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Jay Brooks of Keiser, Ashley Moore of Manila; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.
