James Franklyn "Frank" Brown
James Franklyn "Frank" Brown, 60, of Manila, passed from this life Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Glendale, Ariz., he had been a Manila resident since 1979. Frank was a 1982 graduate of Manila High School and was a retired construction worker, having worked for several area construction companies before retiring in 2014. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting arrowheads, watching the FOX NEWS Channel and the Dallas Cowboys. He was of the Catholic faith. Frank was preceded in death by two fathers, Dalton Brown and Ronnie Fortson; two brothers, Ronnie Fortson, Jr. and Jeff Brown, as well as his niece, Casey Shepard.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Sandra Hill Brown of the home; daughter, Rose Brown Vassar of Manila; mother, Connie Fortson of Leachville; brother, Alfred Brown of Manila; four sisters, Diana Shepard and Della Eubanks, both of Leachville, Marie Thompson and Amy Parker, both of Manila. He also leaves four grandchildren, Andrew Vassar, Kaleb Vassar, Dalton Vassar and Jaci Vassar.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Rowdy Fortson officiating. The family will receive visitors Monday from noon until service time. Online guest register: www.howardfuneralservice.com
