The Haven of Northeast Arkansas is promoting activities to recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

McClendon said volunteers make the difference.

“We need people to assist as event greeters, information booth attendants, event hosts, donation organizers at our volunteer House, hotline call coverage, and to distribute brochures and collect yard signs. Call the Haven Outreach Office at (870) 838-8288 for more information.”

McClendon commended the Blytheville Fire Department who answered the call in record time when they needed a few extra hands moving some heavy equipment.

The Haven of Northeast Arkansas is a nonprofit organization providing emergency shelter, supportive care, and education to victims of domestic abuse and their children, so they can live abuse-free lives.
