According to Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson, “At approximately 2:30 p.m. the Blytheville Police Department responded to a call of gunshots fired in the 600 block of East Walnut. During the response, officers discovered two people had been shot.”...

According to Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson, “At approximately 2:30 p.m. the Blytheville Police Department responded to a call of gunshots fired in the 600 block of East Walnut. During the response, officers discovered two people had been shot.”

Both victims are receiving medical attention at the Great River Hospital in Blytheville. Their condition is unknown at this time.

“With recent incidents seen in the news, we want to stress, this is not now and has never been considered an active shooting event,” Chief Thompson said. “The investigation to date indicates the shooting was the result of an argument at an address in the 600 block of East Walnut.”

Police officers are still on the scene.
