Florine Owen Wood

Florine Owen Wood, 96, of Dell, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Florine was born in Dell to Bob Alvin “B.A.” and Cora Sue Seymore Davis and was retired from Borg Warner. She lived in Paragould for many years. Florine was a member of Finch Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 22 years. After leaving Paragould, she moved to Dell and became a member of Dell Baptist Church. Florine adored her family and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, LaVelle Owen; second husband, Ray Wood; sons, Gerald Owen and Wallace Owen; and sisters, Cora Holmes and Beverly Moritiz.

Florine is survived by her children, Brenda Owen Alsup of Dell, Ronnie Owen of Paragould, Linda Owen Bates and her husband Dale of Dell and Tresa Owen Chapman and her husband Terry of Dell; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
