Cleda F. Powell
Cleda F. Powell of Blytheville, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2022 at her home.
Cleda was born in Paneway to Johnny and Martha McDaniel Gilbert. She was a homemaker and was a member of Dell Methodist Church. Cleda was a member of the Mississippi County and Craighead County Fair Associations. She worked in the garden and craft booths along with entering her own items in the fairs. Cleda was a member of the Parkside Extension Homemakers Club and the Garden Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, sewing and working in her garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Polly Owens.
Cleda is survived by her husband, Bill Powell of the home; children, Cindy Byford and her husband Lance of Blytheville, Karen Simpson and her husband Mike of Austin, Ark., Kathy Schneider and Kenny Knight of Sugarland, Texas, and Elizabeth Powell and Kent Moody of Bono; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Huffman officiating. Entombment will follow in Dogwood Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made in Cleda’s honor to Dell Methodist Church.
