Blytheville police are still searching for first degree murder suspect 26-year-old Keveon Cortez Lewis.

Lewis has a warrant out for his arrest in connection with the Aug. 1 death of Deion Lockhart, 50, of Blytheville.

Police Chief Ross Thompson told The Courier Friday morning his officers have talked to Lewis’ family and he is aware of the warrant.

The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. in the 700 block of Clark Street in Blytheville. On arrival at the scene, officers found Lockhart has been the victim of an assault. He was transported to the Great River Medical Clinic where he died as a result of his injuries.

The police investigation led to a warrant being issued for Lewis.

Chief Thompson said the Blytheville Police Department wants to thank those citizens who have assisted in the investigation.
