Darrell Glenn Birmingham
Darrell Glenn Birmingham, 52, of Manila, passed from this life early Monday, July 4, 2022, at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. He was surrounded by the amazing staff of Wing E-7 and his loving family. The son of the late Glenn Birmingham, Darrell was born in Blytheville and had been a lifelong Manila resident. Darrell was a 1988 graduate of Manila High School and was a member of the Westside Baptist Church. He had worked at Post on Team C for 15 years and made many lifelong friends while working there. For the past 11 years Darrell had served as the City Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Manila. He was highly involved with many of the recent upgrades to the water park and baseball fields and spent much of his time as a volunteer for various youth programs. He coached his younger brother and both of his sons in many sports. Darrell was a true Manila Lions fan and bled Black & Gold. He loved his alma mater and his hometown. Above all Darrell was a family man. He was a loving husband and father. He invested his time, money and every ounce of love he had to his boys, sharing with them a love of sports. His support continued after their graduation as he enjoyed watching Zach coach and following Brock's career as a lineman. He loved traveling, going to the beach and making memories with his family. His love for his grandchildren provided great strength during the last 17 months. The family is especially grateful for the care Darrell received from Dr. Veeraputhiran and his staff through his journey, and Lynn and Pat Wright for their hospitality in Little Rock.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Tina Roberts Birmingham of the home; two sons, Zach Birmingham (Brooke) of Manila and Brock Birmingham of Manila; two grandchildren, Zaleigh Grace and Bexleigh Wren; his mother, Jean Birmingham, and grandmother, Mildred Ramsey, both of Manila; one brother and sister-in-law, Shane and Kristy Birmingham, and two nephews, Kaleb and Kyler, all of Manila.
