Bonnie Ferne Hamilton
Bonnie Ferne Hamilton, 89, of Manila, widow of Albert Hamilton, passed from this life Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the Manila Nursing Center. Born in Monette, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Talmadge "Pat" and Hattie Slayton Copeland. Bonnie was a longtime Manila resident and had been employed at the garment factory in Manila for several years. She later worked for Dr. Knuckles as a receptionist, then worked at Arlee Pillow Factory in Leachville for a few years. She was a longtime member of Browns Chapel Baptist Church near Manila and enjoyed sewing, camping and spending time at the lake and in her younger years enjoyed water skiing. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Copeland and Billy Joe Copeland; three sisters, Evelyn Ryall, Freda Thompson and Eula Liljenburg; one grandson, Greg Rapert; and a son-in-law, Jock David Hattenhauer.
Survivors include one son, Gary Hamilton (Debby); one daughter, Teresa Hattenhauer, all of Manila. She also leaves six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Jonathan Hattenhauer, Kyle Hattenhauer, Myles Hattenhauer, Garrett Hamilton, Dylan Bogle and Jay Kulin. Alternate pallbearers include Steve Haigwood and Logan Hamilton. The family will receive visitors Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time.
