Linda Carol Washington
Linda Carol Washington was born Aug. 2, 1954 in Whitton. Through the power of the Holy Spirt and with steadfast faith, Linda answered God’s call from labor to eternal rest on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022.
Linda was a person of tremendous love and had great compassion for others. Her life was centered on faith, family and friends. Her love for God transcended into every facet of everything she was a part of. Her gift was spending time with the people she loved and building everlasting relationships.
Linda’s greatest love was her family. She welcomed company in her home often and loved seeing and being with her family and extended family. Linda enjoyed cooking to receive an invitation to dinner from her made you feel you were truly loved. The magic of love was the most important ingredient to her cooking. She also had a special love for her grandchildren, Dre and Khallen, whom she adored and showered with everlasting love. The sun shined brighter when they became a part of her life.
She had a light within her that shone brightly, guiding her to seek ways to help friends and others. She diligently served her community through her 30-year tenure at the Arkansas State Revenue Office in Marked Tree.
Linda’s lovely face, her laughter and her unyielding spirit will always live on through those who were privileged to know and love her. She was loved yesterday, as she is loved today. She will be loved tomorrow and forever!
In rest, she is reunited with her parents, Franklin Harris, Sr. and Christine Nelson Harris; and three brothers, Karl Harris, Freddie Harris and Charles Harris.
She leaves cherished memories to her two children, Laundre Derae Washington and Kimberly Dupree of Marked Tree; two grandchildren, Laundre Derae Washington, II and Khallen Chanler Dupree of Marked Tree; a special nephew, Alexander “Laugge” Kolen of Little Rock; two sisters, Bunnie Johnson of Marked Tree and Bernice Jackson of Payneway; six brothers, Franklin (Nellie) Harris, Jr. and Gregory (Sheryl) Harris of Marked Tree, Bobby Harris of Memphis, Tenn., Billy Ray Harris and Larry Harris, Sr. of Little Rock, and Anthony Harris. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends to cherish her memories.
As a pillar of her family and community, she will be forever missed. Her memory is engrained in our hearts to live forever.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 25, from 4-5:45 p.m. for the family and from 6-7 p.m. for visitors and friends at Woodard Funeral Home, 504 Elm Street, Marked Tree.
