Rickey O’Neal King
Rickey O’Neal King, 67, of Blytheville, passed from this life on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.
Born to Jesse Willard and Isabell Gurlene Coleman King in Blytheville, he was a retired assistant director of the Mississippi County Union Mission. Rickey was a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church and served his country with honor in the United States Army Reserves. Rickey loved to go fishing and was dedicated to his family, especially his grandchildren. As the director at the Mission, it was his responsibility to help the men who came to the mission seeking help. Rickey possessed a special love and talent for caring for people who were down on their luck. He was able to show them compassion and understanding that Christ filled his heart with, but he was also able to display a needed firmness to help them become better individuals and to show them Christ’s love through his own salvation. Rickey was a special person who helped many get themselves back onto the road to recovery. For this special talent, Rickey will be remembered by all who knew him and were touched by his life.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willard Dean King and Melvin Mitchell King; and sister, Carol Ann King.
Rickey is survived by his wife, Shari Smith King of the home; children, Savannah and Jake Burns of Gosnell, Jennifer Hardesty of Armorel, Katie and Vincent Scatigna of Gosnell, John and Norma Hines of Dell, James and Donna Hines of Kauffman, Texas, Janet and Todd Pierson of Charlotte, Jessica and Lawrence Bohmfalk of Oxford, David and Stephanie Hines of Jonesboro, Sarah Wilson of Blytheville, Mary and Jason Petrous of Blytheville; brother, Jimmy King of Gosnell; sisters, Carlotta Bateman of Gosnell, Ruth Ann Hinz of Casa Grande, Ariz., Barbara Perry and Lois King; 36 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church in Blytheville with Rev. Mike Welch officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1 p.m. until service time also at the Trinity Baptist Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
