New Blytheville School District interim superintendent Mike Wallace recently introduced himself to the community and addressed his plans.

“As the new interim superintendent of the Blytheville School District, I want to take the opportunity to introduce myself to our parents and community stakeholders that may not know me,” Wallace said. “My name is Mike Wallace and, prior to being selected as superintendent, I served as Blytheville Middle School Principal for 13 years. I am originally from Kennett, Missouri and had worked for a number of years as a school administrator in the southeast part of that state before moving to Blytheville. My wife, the former Dee Lybrand, has worked as an administrator for both the Blytheville School District and the Osceola School District. We have three children, Phillip Keiter, Holly Engel, and Hannah Brasher. Holly is an employee of the Blytheville District and currently serves as the Tenaris After School Program Director. Hannah is the mother of our only grandchild, Ethan. I am excited about this new opportunity to further serve our students, their parents, and our other constituents. Our educational community has great potential. To achieve this success, it will be necessary to work productively. Working together, we will stress the importance of both diversity and inclusion. I look forward to our educational journey together. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance to you. Chickasaw for life!”
