Luella Brown
Luella Brown was the eighth child of 14 born on Oct. 12, 1954, in Earle to the late Robert Dorsey, Sr. and the late Viola Dorsey. Luella passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at the blessed age of 67.
She attended Blytheville High School and graduated in 1973. She retired after 20 years from Baptist Memorial Hospital (now known as Great River Medical Center) as an environmental service personnel. She met and married Robert Brown, Jr. of Blytheville on June 16, 1998. She became a loving housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed praising the Lord, attending church, singing, listening to gospel music, spending time with her seven darling grandchildren, visiting and talking with family and friends, shopping, going to yard sales, decorating her home and gardening.
Luella Brown was preceded in death by her father, Robert Dorsey, Sr.; her mother, Viola Dorsey; her husband, Robert Brown, Jr.; four bothers, B.B. Owens, Robert Dorsey, Jr., Bordy Dorsey and Jessie Dorsey; two sisters, Betty Owens and Milinda Franklin; and granddaughter Quanisha Taylor.
She leaves to mourn her three daughters, Seteria Dorsey (Najee Dorsey) of Atlanta, Ga., Cynthia Lester of Blytheville and Shimeka Snead of Columbia, S.C.; six grandchildren, Rodrick Snead and Shymire Snead both of Blytheville, Thomas Jones, Jr. of North Carolina, Donavon Jones and Shenekea White of Columbia, S.C., and Terrance Lawson of Columbus, Ga.; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mae Helen Jackson, Ethel Dorsey, Priscilla Lewis and Roberta Goings, all of Blytheville, and Gracie Golden of West Memphis; two brothers, Climmie Dorsey (Glenda) of Gary, Ind., and Cleo Dorsey of Alexandria, La.; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. The funeral will be held the following day Saturday, Jan. 22, at 10 a.m. also at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville, with Dr. Moses Black officiating. The burial will be at held Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blytheville. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home.
