Freddie Smith, Jr.
Freddie Smith, Jr. of Blytheville was born April 13, 1953, in Turrell to the late Freddie Smith, Sr. and the late Margie D. Jones Dooley. He was a factory worker and retired from NIBCO. Mr. Smith passed away Dec. 16, 2021, at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock at the age of 68. He is preceded in death by his father, Freddie Smith, Sr. ; his mother, Margie D. Jones Dooley; his wife, Barbara Jean Smith; one daughter, Lynetta Lynn Mitchell; three brothers, Willie Johnson, George Johnson and Stanley Smith; and his mother-in-law, Evelyn Newman.
He is survived by two daughters, Tranece (Terrance) Thomas and La’ Tunya Smith, both of Blytheville; his bonus daughter, Kristy Finch of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Eddie Lee Johnson of Peoria, Ill.; five sisters, Pearline Smith, Virginia (Jerry) Reel, Minnie Smith, Doris Warren, and Kathereen Paige, all of Blytheville; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Glenda) Newman of Blytheville and Robert (Patricia) Newman of Virginia Beach, Vir.; nine grandchildren, Patrick King, Jr. (Ramesha), Angel Rainer, Tony Eugene Brown, Roynesha Wells, Freddrick Smith, Devin Wilson, Deasia Smith, Kadren Hunt, Zion Veasley; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 27, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville, with the funeral immediately following at 2 p.m. with Deacon Frank Rose officiating. The burial will be held at Memory Gardens in Blytheville. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
