BMS, BHS on lockdown
At 9:25 a.m., Monday, Blytheville Middle School and Blytheville High School remained on perimeter lockdown after a threat.
"We are still on perimeter lockdown at this time," said Chanda Walker, the Blytheville School District Family and Community Involvement coordinator. "Blytheville School District security is working with Blytheville Police Department. We will make an announcement when the lockdown is no longer in effect."
Around 8 a.m., Monday the Blytheville School District posted on its Facebook page, "The Blytheville School District is aware of the threat that has been shared via social media in regards to Blytheville Middle School and Blytheville High School. Both the Blytheville School District security and Blytheville Police Department are working together on this matter. The safety of our staff and students are important to us. At this time both Blytheville School District security and Blytheville Police Department think that the threats are not credible. At this time parents are asked not to come to schools as they are in a perimeter lockdown.'
