On Oct. 15, the Arkansas Department of Education’s Division of Elementary and Secondary Education released the 2021 Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) School Index and Accountability-at-a-Glance (School Rating) reports for public viewing on My School Info.
These reports include data from the 2020-2021 school year, including 2021 ACT Aspire results.
Under Act 89 of 2021, schools did not receive a school rating (letter grade) for the 2020-2021 school year.
Several local schools beat the state average, with all schools in the Armorel, Gosnell, and East Poinsett County districts surpassing the mark on their respective levels.
In Mississippi County, Gosnell recorded the top elementary score of 74.84, while Armorel had the top high school score in the county with a 67.98 in the overall ESSA index. The state average for elementary was 66.93, while the state average for high school was 63.25.
Weiner Elementary in the Harrisburg School District had the top elementary score in Poinett County with an 87.14, while East Poinsett County had the highest high school score in the county with a 65.3.
In Mississippi County, Armorel Elementary scored a 74.72 to go along with the high school’s results.
Blytheville Elementary scored a 50.11; Blytheville Primary, 51.97; Blytheville Middle School, 50.85 (state middle school average was 65.87); and Blytheville High School, 49.1.
Buffalo Island Central Elementary had a 72.47 and BIC High School 62.3.
Gosnell High School scored a 66.99 to go along with the elementary’s results.
Manila Elementary scored a 65.61 and MHS a 68.53.
KIPP Blytheville College Pre scored a 55.9 and KIPP Collegiate High School a 60.18.
Osceola High School had a 50.96; North Elementary, 59.09; Carol Smith Elementary, 56.13; Osceola STEM, 53.8.
Rivercrest High School scored a 60.69, while Rivercrest Elementary scored a 68.13.
In Craighead County, Riverside East Elementary scored a 64.04; Riverside West Elementary, 72.45; and Riverside High School, 64.6.
In Poinsett County, EPC’s Lepanto Elementary scored a 71.54; Tyronza Elementary, 68.88; and EPC High School, 65.3.
Trumann High School had a 62.37; Trumann Elementary, 61.71; and Trumann Middle School, 60.65.
Harrisburg Elementary scored a 66.14; Harrisburg Middle School, 65.05; and Harrisburg College and Career Preparatory School, 58.83, to go along with Weiner Elementary’s score.
Marked Tree Elementary scored a 68.14, while Marked Tree High School scored a 57.93.
