During the September meeting of the Riverside School Board, board president Greg Douglas shared a letter from the Arkansas Association of Education Administrators that says Riverside superintendent Jeff Priest is a finalist for Arkansas Superintendent of the Year.

“The nomination reflects your superintendent’s commitment to education and the value they bring to the children of this great state,” the letter reads. “It’s an honor to be nominated for this award and I wanted to make sure you were aware that your superintendent is obviously highly respected in the state.”

The board congratulated Priest on the nomination.

"I'm truly honored to be nominated for this prestigious award,” Priest said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the two great communities of Caraway and Lake City. We have an awesome faculty/staff, student body, and school board that makes my job easy and enjoyable. Nominations such as this certainly wouldn't be possible without the daily support of the Riverside community!"
