Blytheville police attended to a gunshot victim until medics arrived Sunday in the 800 block of North 2nd.
According to the police report, officers found Leroy Johnson lying on the top of the stairs of the apartment building; the offender had left the scene.
Police noticed a handgun on the walkway near the stairs, then cleared the living room of the residence and reportedly found “a green leafy substance on the living room table.”
Officers rendered aid to Johnson who had a gunshot wound on the right side of his body.
“I retrieved my trauma kit and applied pressure to the wound with gauze until EMS arrived,” Officer Dunham wrote in the report. “Pafford arrived on the scene and I assisted them in getting Johnson down the stairs to the ambulance.”
