David Lendennie
David Lendennie, 68, of Blytheville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021 at Gosnell Health and Rehab in Gosnell.
Born in Blytheville to Lucius V. and Bonnie Mae Smart Lendennie, David was a graduate of Blytheville High School and Arkansas State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in music. He tutored several band students in the percussion section. David was the former emergency 911 services director and coordinator for Mississippi County and a former supervisor for the Mississippi County Road Department. He loved the Blytheville community and served in several capacities such as a councilman on the Blytheville City Council from 1999 until 2005. He volunteered his time and was a member of the Red Cross Chickasawba Chapter where he served as chairman in 2000. David earned the 1998 Volunteer of the Year award through the Red Cross. He also was an honorary member of the Armorel-Huffman Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Christopher Lendennie.
David leaves his wife, Lih Shaing Lendennie of the home; brother, Benny Lendennie and his wife Dianne Haynes Lendennie of Collierville, Tenn.; grandchild, Arasellei Lendennie; niece and nephew, Brooke Loeffler and her husband Brian and Brett Lendennie and Pam Suplee; and great-niece and nephew, Kylie and Nate Loeffler.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James W. Haynes officiating. Burial will be private in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home.
