Bonnie Sue Statler Carter
Bonnie Sue Statler Carter, 84, of Jonesboro and a former longtime resident of Blytheville, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at her home in Jonesboro.
Born to Omer and Johna Lee Gillette Statler in Blytheville, Bonnie was retired from Borg Warner and went on to self-employment as a housekeeper. It did not matter if she was sick, she always worked hard and took care of her clients. Bonnie loved Jesus and was a member of Cole Ridge Baptist Church. She was very active in her church and cleaned the church after working all week. Bonnie loved to make hand painted quilts for her grandchildren. She also had a true green thumb when it came to growing house plants and just about anything. Bonnie was the most selfless, sweet, caring and giving soul and was always helping anyone in need. She always put her family first and loved them unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marion Rogers Carter; brothers, Jerry Statler, David Statler and Charles Statler; sister, Bobbie Jane Swain; and son-in-law, Michael Statler.
Bonnie Sue is survived by her children, Marion Rogers Carter, Jr. of Van Cleve, Miss., Kim Marie Carter Reed and husband Charlie of Burlington, Vt., Kathleen Carter Statler of Jonesboro and Syndi Troup and husband Tommy of Stonewall, La.; siblings, Elsworth Statler of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Joyce Statler of Blytheville and Larry Statler of Cuba, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 27, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marshall Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
