Jimmy Anderson
Jimmy Anderson was born March 30, 1936, in Lyons, Miss., to Alma Thomas and P.C. Foster. He attended school in Caruthersville, Mo., and was employed as a farmer and Cook County Hospital.
Jimmy was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Brian Olden.
He was a very upbeat person who loved his family, friends and his church.
In 1959 Jimmy was united in marriage to Freddie B. Hurst, and to this union two children were born, Jimmy Jr. and Michael.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; the father that raised him, Sylvester Anderson, Sr.; his son, Jimmy Anderson, Jr.; his second wife, Bessie; his twin brother, Willie; other brothers, Sylvester, Jr., Martin Van, Walter, Tommie Jean, and Leonard, Robert Johnson; a brother-in-law, Roosevelt Thomas; and a stepson, Jessie Aaron
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories one son, Michael Anderson; a daughter, Barbara (Kenneth) Rosepta; one brother, Barry (Alfreda) Anderson; one sister, Queen Esther Thomas; grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday June 12, from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist 1215 East Street.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. at the church, Bishop Brian Olden will deliver the eulogy with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Yarbro.
