Jimmie Wayne Boling
Jimmie Wayne Boling, 90, of North Chesterfield, Vir., former longtime Manila resident, passed from this life Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at his home. Born in Manila and raised in Manila and Blytheville, he was the son of the late Sular Fred and Leslie L. Rice Boling and had attended Manila High School prior to moving to St. Louis, Mo. Jimmie was a career soldier, retiring after 25 years of service in the U.S. Army where he was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his military retirement, he returned to the Manila area and began working for the Manila School District as a bus driver until he made his home in Virginia in 2009. He enjoyed keeping busy working on cars and lawn mowers as well as remodeling his home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Boling and wife Nomena of North Chesterfield, Vir., and C.W. Boling and wife Karen of Tallapoosa, Ga.; his daughter, Tricia Jeannette Boling of Tallapoosa, Ga. He also leaves two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22, in the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Jason Sutfin officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila with full military honors. The family will receive visitors Thursday morning from 9:30 until service time at the funeral home.
