According to Blytheville superintendent Bobby Ashley, Blytheville head football coach Lance Stone has been placed on paid administrative leave after an alleged domestic incident Friday morning.

Stone, 34, was arrested by Blytheville police early Friday morning on domestic battery charges after an alleged incident with his pregnant girlfriend.

“I, Officer Grubbs, responded to 418 Cedar in reference to a physical altercation between the two occupants of the residence,” the report reads. “Angelyn Hercules advised that she was fearful of her boyfriend after he grabbed her by the face during an argument, causing a scratch to the right cheek, and throwing her on the bed. I did observe a faint red scratch to her face at the time of this report, as well as a scratch on her left wrist. Hercules also, visibly pregnant, confirmed she was 7 months along. Hercules allowed me to read text messages between her and Richard Stone, where he stated he put his hands on her because she was hitting him. Hercules denies Stones claims. Hercules allowed myself and other officers on scene inside the home where Stone was located and taken into custody. Stone had no injuries at the time of his arrest. Stone was then place in the back of my patrol car, Unit 30, and taken to MSCO without incident.”

Stone was promoted from BHS assistant coach to head coach in 2019.
