On Friday, Blytheville police released the cause of death in the two individuals who perished Thursday, Feb. 4 in a fire in the 700 block of South Lilly.
According to BPD Capt. John Frazier, Travis Armstrong, 37, and Sandra Hopkins, 49, died of smoke inhalation.
"Detectives have been in contact with the Arkansas State Crime lab in Little Rock and the cause of death to those individuals has been determined as smoke inhalation," he said. "According to the medical examiner there was no other trauma to either victim. The investigation into the fire is still ongoing and detectives are working closely with the Blytheville Fire Department's fire marshal, waiting for results from the crime lab to determine the cause of the fire."
