In the early morning hours on Christmas Day, two men with warrants for 1st Degree murder were arrested by members of the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office in connection with an incident involving a Blytheville man, 46-year-old Christopher S. Randolph, that took place at a bar located in Steele, on Christmas Eve.
Caleb Holland, 26, of Dyersburg and Sean Kotalik, 45, of Blytheville, were arrested at Holland’s residence located at 99 Walnut Drive shortly after midnight on Christmas Day, according to Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box.
“We were contacted by the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office asking for help locating the two individuals because they believed they were in Dyer County,” explained Box. “Our deputies went to Holland’s residence and arrested both suspects without incident.”
According to law enforcement officials, the murder charges stem from an alleged assault at a local bar in Steele involving a 46-year-old man from Blytheville. Once upon the scene, Missouri law enforcement officials found the victim with severe head injuries resulting from the assault.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he later died from the injuries.
“Missouri law enforcement has already been here collecting evidence, and we’re holding them here until they are extradited back to Missouri to face the charges,” added Box. “We also towed the car allegedly used by the suspects and that will be turned over to Missouri law enforcement as well.”
Both Holland and Kotalik remain in the Dyer County Jail pending an arraignment that was scheduled for Monday, Dec.28 in General Sessions court.
