James Edward Britnell
James Edward Britnell of Trumann passed away Saturday, Dec, 26, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 4 days. He was born Tuesday, April 22, 1941, in Harrisburg and lived in Trumann for the past 45 years. He was a retired employee of Arkansas Pools and Spas and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Britnell, his father, Lloyd Britnell and his mother and stepfather, Ruthie (Jarrett) and John Roberts.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Timothy) Wood and Kim (Roger) Forbus, both of Trumann; two brothers, David Britnell of Harrisburg and Donald (Rhonda) Britnell of Highland; three sisters, Evelyn (James) Williams of Harrisburg, Ruby (Billy) Meacham of Collierville, Tenn., and Freda (Roger) Brown of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Magan (Jared) Walker, Lee (Zoe) Forbus, Morgan Kitchens, Hannah Wood, Heather (Chase) Exum and Hailey Wood; and eight great-grandchildren, Rylee Wilson, Nathan Walker, Addilyn Reeves, Casen Exum, Lyla Forbus, Isabella Mathenia, Caroline Exum and Beckett Walker.
A Celebration of Life is Dec. 29 with Reverend Ricky Dobbins officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Lee Forbus, Jared Walker, Shawn Blanchard, David Fagan, Donald Britnell and Matthew Mathenia. In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and face masks are required along with the signing of a COVID-19 form.
