Dorothia "Jean" Endicott

Dorothia "Jean" Endicott, 87, of Jonesboro, formerly of the Milligan Ridge community, passed from this life Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Etowah, she was the daughter of the late Owen and Ester Gatlin Rhodes and had been a longtime resident of Milligan Ridge before making her home in Jonesboro after the death of her husband of 54 years, Vernon Endicott in 2004. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Milligan Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Rhodes; infant Endicott; twin grandsons; brother-in-law, Danny Baugh; uncle, Joe Gatlin; and aunt, Pearl Miller.

Survivors include her loving children, son, Gary Endicott (Judy) and daughter, Barbara Brown (Gerald); two sisters, Shirley Baugh and Helen Williams (Jimmy); special sister-in-law, Norma Jean Endicott Woodard. She also leaves her grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Sara Brown and Trevor Endicott (Lee Ann), as well as her great-grandchildren, Brenlee, Olivia and Vera Kay Endicott, all of whom were her pride and joy.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Stephen Woodruff, Dr. Anthony White and all the dedicated health care professionals at NEA Clinic and NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital who cared for Jean over the years. A special thanks to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Jonesboro for all the prayers and support. A heartfelt thanks to all the nurses at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House for their care of Jean and her family. Jean's daughter, Barbara, would like to thank Alicia Seruya, Libby Nix and Sue McFadden for all the support, prayers and friendship that had helped her through many difficult times over the last several years.

A graveside funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Monette Memorial Cemetery. No visitation has been scheduled. In compliance with state guidelines, face masks must be worn and social distancing will be required to keep everyone safe. The family requests lasting memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, the NEA Humane Society or Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.  Online guest register: www.howardfuneralservice.com
